Aylin Aydinli

Aylin Aydinli is Associate Professor of Marketing and Program Director of the MSc Marketing at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Her research focuses on consumer behavior, with a particular interest in how emotions and social identities shape consumer decision-making in areas such as food marketing, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion (DEI). Within the DEI domain, she investigates how inclusive branding and advertising influence consumer perceptions and brand relationships, and how brands can integrate DEI strategies in authentic and effective ways. She combines experiments, field studies, and meta-analyses, and collaborates with companies and public organizations to strengthen the practical relevance and impact of her work. Aylin has received several research grants, including the prestigious VENI grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), and she is the 2025 recipient of the AMA-EBSCO-RRBM Award for Responsible Research in Marketing. She earned her PhD in Marketing from London Business School.
